The premier league is hands down the most entertaining league in the world. In terms of the competition, the fight for the title and champions league places is as hardly contested as the fight to avoid relegation. In terms of investment,  the money that these clubs spend and make is insane! Fulham, Bournemouth won automatic promotion, while Nottingham Forest won the playoff final to make it to the premier league for the 2022-23 season. Although they just got promoted, at the start of the season, some of us might have thought that Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham would be in the relegation battle with Southampton but to our surprise, they are all safe. Nottingham Forest defeated the team in the premier League title race Arsenal and secured their spot in their premier league next season. Everton and Leicester were solid mid table teams and at some point were teams that finished in the top half of the table. Those days when Leicester won the premier league in their fairytale season ...

Diego Maradona “Even if I played for a million years, I’d never come close to Maradona. Not that I’d want to anyway. He’s the greatest there’s ever been.”  Lionel Messi Diego Maradona, the man who is widely regarded as one of the best players to ever play the beautiful game passed away at the age of 60. Diego Maradona's Argentina side won the 1986 world cup winner and he also won Domestic and European Cups for Napoli. Napoli are now planning to change the name of their stadium to Diego Armando Maradona San Paolo Stadium. Diego Maradona defeated Belgium in the semifinals of the world cup and there was so much of admiration for him that eventhough Belgium lost, immediately after the whistle, the goalkeeper ran to swap shirts with the Maradona. His ability to dribble with the ball, his work rate off the ball, his passing, his ball control, everything was world class. The world of football will miss...

The Premier League Title Race: Is it going to be a 4 Horse Race? “ In the Premier League you never really know what is going to happen. There is very little between the teams .” Luis Suarez As the 2021-22 edition of the Premier League is underway, with 6 games played by each team so far, people have begun placing their bets on who they think will win this season. The Premier league this year is so exciting and the teams are so good that it is going to be hard to predict which team is going to win. This season may be a tightly contested four horse race between the current PL champions Man City, the champions of Europe, Chelsea, the 2019/2020 PL champions Liverpool and 13 time PL champions, Manchester United.  Manchester City’s title defence : The champions of 2020/21 Premier League, Manchester City have established themselves as the team to beat in England having won 3 PL titles in the last 4 seasons. With new summer signing Jack Grealish, one of the best players in the premi...

Brighton hit the crossbar 5 times and could have defeated United but United were quite lucky today to get all 3 points. Brighton had 18 shots and 5 of those shots were on target, while United had 7 shots and 3 on target. Perhaps United were more clinical as the 3 shots of United led to 3 goals. The performance of United was below par. There were many sloppy passes, weak defending, no pressing. It was almost as if the players were just strolling in the park. None of the defenders even tried to commit or stick a leg out to block Brighton's shots. They were not marking the Brighton forwards who had great opportunities to win the game The only transfer of the season so far Van De Beek could not make any impact in the game because he did not have enough time to do that! If United give the ball away and defend the same way against top teams like Liverpool and Man City, they are going to get punished! They need to improve a lot and fast to even get into the top 6 this season as there...

The Jason Sancho deal has been really frustrating just like this window for Man United. Wolves, Liverpool, Man City, Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs have all addressed their areas of weaknesses, or strengthened their teams by signing new players. Carlo spotted weaknesses in Everton's midfield and he signed Allan, James and Doucoure. Arteta spotted the weakness in defence and signed Gabriel who scored in his first game.  Van Der Sar helped United sign Van De Beek this transfer window but signing Van De Beek is not enough as he may not even be a regular starter right now. There are weakness for United was in defence and they have not addressed that area yet. United were linked to Upemecano and Regullion but they did not sign these players. The fans are frustrated with this transfer window and so is Ole Gunnar Soljkaer according to reports from ESPN.  The bottom line is that the transfer negotiations, transfer recruitment policy and the way Man Utd is run by the Glazers and Ed...

Post match thoughts United's FA cup campaign and aims to reach Arsenal's record of 13 FA cups came to an end. Poor performance from the United team that just didn't turn up for the game. Ole's tactics from the start were poor and United were on the back foot for most of the game. If that Chelsea team have a vulnerability, it is in defence and they were not tested and made to look good. It was like telling Chelsea "You go and play your game and we will try to hit you on the break". They kept possession, played good football and capitalised on the poor passing of United. Ole should have started Ighalo and Romero yesterday and a back four which he reverted to later but they could not get a fluidity in attack and keep possession so it was pointless. There is no point of having those players in the team if they don't play in such games. Now there is pressure on De Gea who had one of his worst games last night. The gameplan of United helped Olivier Giroud and ...
